Technical Specifications

Every BGP VM is built for network operators — not general-purpose hosting.

Routing & BGP

  • BGP session via eBGP
  • IPv4 and IPv6 unicast supported
  • Customer supplies their own ASN
  • Strict IRR prefix filtering enforced
  • Downstream support through AS-SET filtering

DDoS & Transit

  • Infrastructure-level DDoS mitigation
  • Automatic null-routing of volumetric attacks
  • IPv6 transit included at no extra cost
  • Multi-homed BGP uplinks on all nodes
  • Transit available at St. Louis and Toronto
  • Low-latency routing to major IX endpoints

Need Dedicated IP Transit?

For higher-bandwidth dedicated transit — 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps, or 10 Gbps committed or burstable — contact our network team for custom pricing. We support cross-connects in St. Louis and can peer at select IX facilities.

Need your own IP space? Valor Node offers ARIN-registered IPv6 allocations and LIR sponsorship through our LIR & IP Services page. /48 IPv6 blocks start at $4.80/yr.

Common Questions

Yes. You must supply a valid public ASN to establish a BGP session. If you need an ASN, we can assist with ARIN registration or LIR sponsorship.

IPv4: /24 minimum. IPv6: /48 minimum. Longer prefixes may be filtered by upstream peers. IRR route objects are required for announcement.

Infrastructure-level mitigation is active on all BGP VM nodes. Large volumetric attacks may trigger null-routing to protect network stability.

BGP VMs are a separate product designed specifically for IP transit. You can run routing software (BIRD, FRRouting) on the BGP VM and forward traffic to your other servers.

BGP VMs are billed monthly with no minimum contract. Dedicated transit circuits may require a minimum term — contact sales for details.
